the reason many jws forgo things is because they are afraid of "stumbling" a brother or sister.

just in case---they make it a point to not do or say something that could cause a person to leave "the truth".. i knew of some witnesses that were always "stumbled" by this or that.. so silly..

The water past Ventura starts to get colder, your not missing much, unless you want to put on your 3mm suit, 4/3 for above San Simeon, Ca. You body surf "The Wedge"? I smashed my face on that neck snapping break! Hunington Pier, great memories and lots of skateboarding during the big drought in the 1970s, remember all the empty pools, when water was scarce? Idiots like me and my friends would skate in near La Mirada, there use to be a nice water drainage way. Your photos bring back wild memories to anyone who lived in Orange County, Los Angeles County (Redondo Beach, Seal Beach). Sorry your girlfriend did not wait, four years was not a huge wait, she was a hottie!

what happened after the paragraph was read?

did anyone try to denounce abusing one's spouse under any circumstances, or were most answers supportive of the "advice" given to selma, i.e.

Cedars another great article, I hope will find it's ways to women dealing with domestic violence. The Watchtower Organization claims to be progressive, on the cutting edge of Bible understanding, yet they drop the ball on such a heavy issue.

In Santa Maria, California a sister was being beaten regularly, her husband suffered from psychiatric problems which excused his anger and pure rage. This went on for over a decade, as elders were not trained to deal with domestic abuse, other than tell this sister "to be a better wife.". He threw her down stairs, dragged her by her hair, punched her face in. "Poor little "R" is suffering from depression, his anti-psychotic medication is not working the way it should. "Please don't call the police on my little boy (33 years old)" long-time elder begged. How did this sister get out of this nightmare, finally he commited adultry and she left him. He hounded her, parked out in front of her house, brothers begged "Don't call the police, it will bring Jehovah's name into reproach!"

These inept men may or may not have cared about this child, but their conduct displayed they were concerned about appearances and preceptions the police had about Jehovah's happy family!. There are strong elders who have wanted to come to blows with spineless wife beaters, they are the few in my experiences. Strong courageous elders might call the police, or might take a two-by-four to these vectors skulls. I don't miss having to make decessions with no authority, or scarred body memebers afraid of they might sully the Watchtower's good name.

The same excuses that keep women unsafe from wife beaters, is the same that kept pedophiles deeply entrenched in the Org. Victims become the problem, when victims cry out for help, we were told "not to counsel, to avoid police involvement". Keeping a white washed appearance is the ultimate goal, not help for the victims!

i'm pleased to announce that juan viejo2 has launched a new mini-survey on jwsurvey.org.

the survey tackles the premise that the society might one day abandon shunning (at least between family members) and asks: what effect might this have on us?.

the survey is primarily targeted at df'd/da'd and active jws, although there is one question applicable to all, which asks simply whether you agree with the practice of shunning.. there are only a handful of questions, so if you feel inclined, please do visit and take the survey on the link below:.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" Cedars they opened up Pandora's Box with their new Blood policy, was this the gaff that will open up new doors, or will they retract what they wrote (New Light), Marvin Shilmmer has not received any information for why they changed their policy on "blood fractions".

With a legalistic community, one of the joys of super righteous individuals is the power of being preceived as holy, not loving or caring! Can you imagine if the Society changed it's view on Shunning and Blood, we would have another Romania event, on a far greater scale!

Jehovah's Witnesses are quick to congradulate a householder for thinking outside their Church, question the Chuches teachings, yet we condemmed brothers and sisters who did the same thing to the Watchtower Society, they are beyond questioning and have provided all we need. WE Are considered Faithless for not blindly accepting everything the Organization has written!

the survey tackles the premise that the society might one day abandon shunning (at least between family members) and asks: what effect might this have on us?.

the survey is primarily targeted at df'd/da'd and active jws, although there is one question applicable to all, which asks simply whether you agree with the practice of shunning.. there are only a handful of questions, so if you feel inclined, please do visit and take the survey on the link below:.

Today, I saw your friend who placed Apostate literature on cars during the Santa Maria, 4x Halls Convention. Did you know he sent a letter to the Santa Maria Times attacking Jehovah's people, out of vengence against his mortal enemy? Is he still selling fire-arms under the table and other hot goods? Attacking our own on JWN will not bring the justice you desire, you must patiently wait for Jehovah to act through his "APpointed men!", give him time to expose the unsavory pioneers and wannabee elders. So many devils, so little time!

Hi again Cedars, today I was deeply engaged with a "dead head" over this issue of the "Governing Body" A.K.A (Annointed who matter in reality) of Jesus Christ's Ransom Sacrifice.

Using the skills I have picked up on JWN, I was able to soften the impact of my question "What does the Bible say about Jesus Christ's Ransom, who did Jehovah provide this for? (John 17:3)"

A. "To everyone, the Bible says God provided it for everyone!"

Using (1 Timothy 2:5) "http://bible.cc/1_timothy/2-5.htm" asking again, the Bible student said "God provided Jesus Christ for all mankind, Jesus Christ is the only Mediator between us!"

Guess what, this student was not aware that the "annoited" Governing Body Class claimed to be our mediator, or that Jehovah had put a mediator between Mankind-Jesus Christ-Jehovah God.

Most Jehovah Witnesses do not know that a new layer to Jehovah had been put in place by legalistic men. The basis of their argument is sneaky, clever and is Blasphemy against the Holy Spirt!

@cedars do you think there is a sin that you would shun a person for? Child Molesters and Rapist are a different entity than someone who was "shunned" for adultry, fornication or homosexual behaviour.

Some of the more progressive individuals are not attacking these sinners (We are all sinners!) but are learning to address the conduct without treating all sinners the same way. If Jesus Christ was to shun all the sinners, who would be left on earth untouched? The Governing Body, the Jezebel Class? Piousneers?

I voted "I partially agree" but only with very bad people, I don't agree lives should be broken up by men who sin themselves.
